At GSE Renewables , we believe that everyone should have access to clean and sustainable energy without having to make a heavy investment upfront. That’s why we offer zero investment solar power solutions to help you make the switch to clean energy and save on your electricity bills. In this article, we’ll explore the benefits of zero investment solar power and how it can help you save money while reducing your carbon footprint.
The Benefits of Zero Investment Solar Power :
Zero investment solar power is an excellent way to save money on your electricity bills while also helping to reduce your carbon footprint. By installing solar panels on your rooftop or property, you can generate your electricity and reduce your dependency on the grid. This means that you can save money on your electricity bills while also contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
One of the significant benefits of zero investment solar power is that you don’t have to make a heavy investment upfront. This is a significant advantage for those who want to switch to clean energy but don’t have the capital to invest in solar panels. With our zero investment solar power solutions, we take care of the installation and maintenance of the solar panels, so you don’t have to worry about any upfront costs.
How Does Zero Investment Solar Power Work?
Zero investment solar power works by installing solar panels on your rooftop or property. These solar panels are made up of photovoltaic (PV) cells, which convert sunlight into electricity. The electricity generated by these panels is then used to power your home or business.
During the daytime, when the sun is shining, the solar panels generate electricity. If you generate more electricity than you use, the excess electricity is fed back into the grid, and you receive a credit on your electricity bill. This is known as net metering, and it’s an excellent way to reduce your electricity bills further.
At night or on cloudy days when there’s not enough sunlight to generate electricity, you can still use electricity from the grid. However, with zero investment solar power, you’ll be using less electricity from the grid, which means lower electricity bills and a lower carbon footprint.
Basic Features of BOOT Model
The BOOT model is based on a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between the Consumer and our Investor team. Under the PPA, the consumer agrees to purchase electricity from the solar plant at a predetermined tariff-rate for the duration of the contract.
One of the main benefits of the BOOT model is that we cover all costs associated with setting up the solar plant, including design, engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning. This means that the Consumer does not have to worry about any of these aspects, resulting in zero trouble.
Another advantage of the BOOT model is that the Consumer only pays for the electricity generated by the solar plant. If there is no generation, no payment is required, which means that the entire performance risk is borne by our team. Additionally, we operate and maintain the plants throughout the project term, resulting in zero overheads for the Consumer.
The PPA price is typically 30-40 percent lower than the grid price, ensuring cost savings on electricity for the consumer. Furthermore, our fixed price provides security against any future increase in electricity prices by the grid, resulting in guaranteed profits for the consumer.
At the end of the PPA term, the solar plant is transferred to the Consumer at no cost. This means that the consumer can enjoy at least 5-10 years of free electricity from the solar plant, as the minimum life of the plant is 25 years.
While zero investment is the primary motivator for the Consumer, there are several other benefits to the BOOT model. Firstly, the large number of projects allows us to establish strategic partnerships and leverage procurement, which results in lower EPC costs and lower tariffs. Secondly, we have optimized per overhead costs through economies of scale in operation and maintenance costs. Thirdly, our dedication to power production through solar has led to specialization in the process, resulting in optimal performance and prime condition of the solar plant. Finally, the BOOT model offers an opportunity for the Consumer to upgrade to new technologies at no extra cost.
Solar for Zero Investment: PPA Models
The PPA model can be of two types depending on the location of the solar plants. The On-Site model involves solar plants located on the Consumer’s rooftop, with electricity produced directly used by the Consumer. The Off-Site model is only available for Open-Access customers and involves setting up the plant at a distant location. The electricity produced is transported through the distribution network to the Consumer’s location, and the Consumer pays for the electricity units consumed at the site as per the agreed Open-Access PPA tariff.
In summary, the BOOT model offers a zero investment solution for solar energy production, with the Consumer benefiting from zero trouble, zero risk, and zero overheads. Additionally, the Consumer enjoys guaranteed profits, free electricity after the PPA term, and the opportunity to upgrade to new technologies at no extra cost.
